Originally
designed by eco-friendly architectural founding father, Bill Lumpkins, Mountain
Top Estate began as a leading home in Santa Fe green properties. Lumpkins was a
man that had a rainbow of passions; his interests varied from art to activism,
from solar energy to Zen Buddism. His charm helped guide Santa Fe in a positive
direction for over 70 years. Beginning his educational adventure with solar
energy in 1935, his influence helped lead Mountain Top Estate to the amazing
property it is today.
In 1992 Burke Denman helped bring the impressive Santa Fe property to the next
ecological level with off-the-grid practices such as solar heated floors and hot
water. Beginning his practice in northern New Mexico in 1971, his vision for
sustainable structures played a major role in the promotion of using
environmentally sound construction throughout New Mexico. The president of
Denman and Associates, Denman plays a pivotal role in creating "zero-energy" housing projects to the overall well being of Santa Fe with his commitment to
Sustainable Communities, a non-profit organization that promotes carbon-neutral
education and communal prosperity.
To connect with the inclusion of the natural environment in constructing the
main house, Trey Jordan was brought in to bring the finishing touches to the
interior design of Mountain Top Estate. A recipient of the City of Santa Fe
Historic Preservation Award and featured designer in publications such as
Metropolitan Home, Mountain Living and Western Interiors, Jordan is an active
participant in the historical fabric of Santa Fe. A promoter of timeless
reference involved with modernistic ambiance, Jordan plays upon the culminating
affects of the textural inspirations of strength and tranquility within our
surroundings.
